My approach is driven by my lifelong personal experience with ADHD, being the parent of kids with ADHD, and a pediatrician specializing in ADHD for 20 years.
If your child is struggling with laziness, defiance, social challenges, sibling conflicts, feelings of overwhelm, or low self-esteem, ADHD may be a contributing factor.
As a pediatrician, I had little training in ADHD but when it affected my family, I made a deep dive into best practices for the evaluation, diagnosis. and treatment of ADHD. I want to share those insights with you.
For years parents and kids affected by ADHD have shared their stories with me. I’m so grateful for the experience and wisdom they’ve shared and I want to share it with you.
There is still stigma and misinformation about ADHD and I want to share with you the science and language of compassion that will help your family understand the truth.
Medication helps connect the focus network and things stop going in one ear and out of the other. It’s important to treat the medical component of ADHD but it’s just the start.
Your child still needs you to understand their challenges and help them build the skills they need to be their best.
Your child isn’t ADHD. Your child is a person. ADHD is a neurological medical condition. And treating it shouldn’t change the person! It should decrease the symptoms of ADHD!
For years parents and kids affected by ADHD have shared their stories with me. I’m so grateful for the experience and wisdom they’ve shared and I want to share it with you.
Your understanding will help take you and your family from FRUSTRATION to FOCUS.
